Similarly, the hair element underneath is new and features a hole for the antenna on top, with some nice texture around the back and sides. Viewing this figure from behind also reveals the rectangular door printed on its back, which removes any doubt regarding the true identity of the Imposter. Like the Imposter, I think this is a fantastic idea for a figure and the execution has proven equally impressive. As his name suggests, this character specialises in lifting heavy objects, alluding to the many magnetic cranes found in M-Tron sets. He therefore wears a large backpack with an attached claw, linked by a new flexible cable. This component seems relatively specialised, but could be ideal for adding mechanical detail and it looks fantastic with this minifigure. Of course, this series also presents homages to some notable Space subthemes from LEGO history, continuing a trend across various recent series of Collectable Minifigures. M-Tron, Ice Planet 2002 and Blacktron II are all represented, alongside a selection of original characters and those inspired by space archetypes.
In fact, the studs and clips mean this backpack could be adapted for other minifigure types. It serves as an effective propulsion unit though, complete with a uniquely printed 2x3 tile on the back. Each minifigure stands on a printed base, featuring an attractive starfield pattern.

Furthermore, this figure comes equipped with a camera and a dark azure backpack, which are lovely accessories, although I think a printed map with directions to Earth could have been fun as well. A mech disguise is not the only way for aliens to explore Earth, however, as the Alien Tourist demonstrates. This alien is instead hiding in plain sight and features a colourful Hawaiian shirt, decorated with leaves and stars. This minifigure is excellent, although I think the designers could have added a reference to the Insectoids range, or brought the Beetlezoid visually nearer to the aliens featured in the Galaxy Squad sets. Nevertheless, this is a fun alien design and its accessory appears suitably bizarre, representing an extraterrestrial plant. Also, I like the 1x2 plate with printed hazard stripes on the backpack, as well as the printing on the sides of the legs. The claw looks excellent as well, including a stud in the middle to secure the supplied cargo box, which features a tile decorated in exactly the style of M-Tron.
As just the latest way for builders to craft their own characters, the new online LEGO Minifigure Factory experience is finally here. The Insectoids are just humanoid aliens who have disguised their ships as bugs to blend in on an alien world. The characters themselves are not bug-like at all and putting their logo or something on an actual bug would just be a cheap reference for the sake of a reference. The Galaxy Squad angle is much more appropriate for that figure.
The torso design is nearly identical to the alien minifigs GS001 and GS008. The final minifigure reminds me very much of Space Police III, as the Blacktron Mutant would fit seamlessly into its gallery of villains! Furthermore, the alien includes a pair of folded wings on its back, re-using a piece created for the Ladybird Girl Collectable Minifigure.
Rolling out as a beta, the new LEGO Minifigure Factory online experience does have some limitations as of now. Aside from just minor tweaks to the customization process which are likely to go live over time with the official launch, the LEGO Group is also limiting it to just a single minifigure per household right now. There’s also the fact that there isn’t all too much variety from the hair colors and styles, or face prints to pick from.
Moreover, the battery symbol on the back looks perfect and the arms are nicely decorated too, with temperature and heartbeat monitors found on each wrist. The arms' trans-light blue colour certainly conveys the android's presumably futuristic origins and I like the calm facial expression as well, befitting a nurse. Unfortunately, the retro blaster from the original Space Hero does not return. Presumably, the mould is no longer in use, as the piece was actually manufactured in pearl gold for Killer Moth, so would not even have needed a new colour. However, the simpler blaster is a fine alternative and I love the robot dog, which features pink eyes and miniscule bolts around its mouth. The alien's friendly smile is charming and the character obviously appreciates Earth, based on his T-shirt.
The corrugated shape gives the impression of flexibility and I like the cylindrical wheels on the feet, even though they are static. The butler is equipped with a whisk and a saucepan, containing something in the process of being whipped. However, the silver printing on the legs is not as opaque as it should be, so I would rather dual-moulded legs were used instead. The metallic chest armour looks splendid though, featuring sculpted muscles in the style of Classical Greek armour. Ice Planet 2002 is another iconic subtheme of Space, well known for introducing trans-neon orange and unique cold-weather astronauts. These astronauts have inspired the Ice Planet Explorer, which takes the same approach to modernising the original design as the M-Tron Powerlifter. The original colour scheme is preserved as far as possible, but the level of detail has increased.
